Either way that would end their career by the end of the week when their license is pulled as well. Any trained dentists can spot a good or bad tooth in an instant.

I think we should wait for more information, but it sounds like there was no cause to do it from preliminary info.

There are unscrupulous folks in every line of work. I saw a story a few years ago on just such dentists who were doing root canals on baby teeth. There are surgeons who recommend surgery when it is unnecessary. I would agree that these folks are probably rare, but it certainly occurs and this particular one probably thought, given the limitations of this patient, that he could get away with it.
