My niece that is 13 years old told me today that her track coach is a lesbian. She also told me that said coach encourages her and her teammates to shower after practice, but some of the girls don't shower because the coaches sexuality makes them uncomfortable.
One of the female coaches where I went is a lesbian. I'm pretty sure one of the male coaches is gay as well. The coaches didn't watch us shower, but they did encourage us to shower. Sweat smells pretty bad.

This is a good question. This would be a cause to keep your homoneeds in the closet. Oh what a pandoras box

Exactly...some kids come from homes that don't stress hygeine. Besides, even in the Dark Ages when I was in high school, the vast majority of us knew to drop our bra straps and wrap a towel around ourselves and stuck our legs and shoulders quickly in the water...worked every time.
That's the whole question. Should someone be able to go into the locker room with a sex they are attracted to. Either heterosexual or homosexual.
I honestly dont know. I have had this discussion with friends before. There were about 6 of us, a couple claimed locker rooms where divided by sexuality and a couple more claimed it was simply by gender.
If we agree that it is by gender, then it shouldnt matter there sexuality.
If it is by sexuality, well then lets see how that transition goes LOL.
Do not judge, you never know what the future holds for you.

I think that your child should not judge, because the coach is posted up in the shower or in the locker room waiting and watching her private parts when she comes out then she shoule not have a problem, most professional gay people care more about their work/careeer more than to distroy it doing the things that she is thinking about, and your daughter have gayphobia which is a form of racism, and if she plan on going to college than she need to learn to accept all people because some smart people graduate from college and 90% of you will experience new things including girl on girl sex.

Would you hold gay nurses, doctors and CNAs to the same standards? After all, they see people of the same sex naked in the course of their jobs.
For that matter, so do straight medical professionals.
I guess I am not seeing the problem here.
To answer your question...I think it would probably be smart for schools to enact a "no coaches in the shower areas" policy, just to cover themselves, so to speak.
