Would the conservative movement attmept to revive this, if the USSC rules in favor of gay marraige in the two cases before it?

Seems quixotic, since 2/3rds vote needed to pass out of Congress?

If they do, they can pretty much flush their chances of taking the WH for a long long time, since a majority of Americans support gay marriage.

Not enough that it would flush their chances of taking the WH. I support gay marriage but such an amendment would not cause me to stop voting Republican. If I had to choose between voting for the party that restricted 3% of the population's ability to get married or the party that wants to restrict 100% of the populations's ability to defend themselves, I'm going with the former.
