I personally find it boring to watch but it's fun to play. The best part of soccer is going to the match with the fans. They get very excited in a way you will never see in a US sporting match. Or I haven't seen ever in a US sporting match.
American football is the best to watch. The right amount of pause to build intensity with execution.
Excluding the playoffs, baseball is boring as hell on tv, almost as bad as golf. Football is kinda boring too. Basketball is pretty fast paced and interesting.
Mitt Romney said something similar when he said he supported women causes by allowing his female employees to go home early and cook for their husbands.

surely you have heard of teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Would the good citizens(or subjects, as the case may be) of Manchester and Madrid not turn out in such numbers if women were playing the "beautiful game, which it truly would be if attractive enough ladies were the athletes?
I've never been a big soccer fan. Probably because I never played it when I was growing up. Back in the day they used to have indoor soccer that was a bit more exciting IMO. I got a couple friends who are into the soccer thing now because their kids play. It will take a while for the US to catch on but it seems to be a bit more in recent years.
I will watch when a women's professional soccer league makes a comeback.
The fans do look to be having a good time. I guess they gotta do something to keep themselves entertained while they kick the rock around midfield. lol
After drinking enough beer, anything seems entertaining enough to keep watching, even watching paint dry.
Karim Benzema is of arab/north-africa heritage..and a conservative. Most of the people in France railing against gay marriage and other womens right issues are arab immigrants and most of them are religious and conservative. You see this same trend across the world...and right here we have our own Republicans who proudly carry the flag of bigotry and taking away womens rights.

It takes them 20 minutes to play the last 5 minutes due to use of timeouts and intentional fouls.
