Your right in a way, it only should matter to those female soldiers, who in life wish to be taken seriously as their male counterparts.
And to their family.
I am sure they are well aware of the dangers of the job, or they would not have signed up.
Big deal, they get naked, oh wow, not naked for a damn porn show.
But it is a big deal to the men fighters. Doesn't that mean anything. When i was in the army i would not have wanted female soldiers with me, nor would almost anyone there. Doesn't what WE want mean anything?

Part of the job, and part of the new times, things are changing, yes it matters, but these are the sings of the time.
Something men are going to have to get use to then, it is part of the job. If you can't accept looking at a women in a line up, the same way you look at a man, who has the problem.
And maybe it matters to the women also, but comes with the territority.
This is something that each individual has to work out in their own head.

They wanted to be equal & have a equal playing field, so let them not take showers for a month & line up naked.
You do know that women have been serving on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan since those wars started, right?
The only thing that has been missing is official recognition that they are serving in the exact same capacity as their male counterparts.
Why do you think that this is fair?
"Basically, it has become untenable for the U.S. military to pretend its female troops are not engaged in combat.
Many women have griped that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq essentially placed them on the front lines, without getting the combat credentials often needed for promotions."
Further,
"Battleland contributor Elspeth Ritchie, who has written on women at war, served as the Army’s top psychiatrist before retiring as a colonel in 2010. She suggests the policy change simply acknowledges reality. “We—female Soldiers– were in combat,” she said Wednesday. “I came under fire. I carried a weapon. I earned three different combat patches from Somalia and Iraq. It seemed a farce to proclaim that we were not.”

It should be equal all around. Woman can pay for dates, hold the door for men sometime etc...
