I can ignore it. This is a LOCAL POLICE issue and I am not related to any of the victims or their families. I don't want the Federal government dragging me into it.
They are uninterested in reducing these mass murders. If they wanted to do that, they wouldn't keep trying the old schemes that have repeatedly failed: Gun bans, waiting periods, etc.
Instead, their real goal is to hold themselves over those they seek to demonize, calling them names like "Heartless and callous". Never mind that their own schemes lead to repeated mass shootings and do nothing to curb them. If they can call other people names and pretend they themselves are somehow better, they have done what they wanted.
Their intention... their goal, is to at least acknowledge that something must be done. They do not have the advantage of emotional and physical distance from Sandy that you and the good Colonel do. They represent all Americans. Despite appearances, it is the majority of Americans that could do without quarterly incidents like Sandy. You know and I know that an assault weapon ban won't do anything.... why not be a man and come out with what's really worrying you: is Biden... er, Obama, prepared to test my resolve to defend the 2nd Amendment with my own life? Are they prepared to do the unthinkable????!! I need to know! Hmmmm...I don't know... if I were a gun lover I think I might have tried to reach out and comfort the shocked and angry people around me before I started hurling scathing insults at them. The NRA, rather than acknowledge the tragedy, take the high road, take a genteel offensive, chose instead to go dark for four days. Telling. Now they emerge and I don't know what their statement says but I have heard that it is reasoned and classy. No doubt. That's why we are in this mess. My opinon of the intellect of City Data Conservatives has never been high but in light of several threads that are open and several that have my post as the last one... ... my regard is going into double digit negative regard territory. Zombies have more empathy than the lot of you.

PS Try to find a Bushmaster Carbine on the Walmart website, try to find one for sale at any mass market retailer.
I don't think you have any room to refer to someone as deranged. Think about it. An unknown poster with a history of ramblings versus a long time senator that is now the Vice President of the United States.
I think I can recognize mentall illness when I see, read or hear it. And I'm certain it's not the Vice President who is the sick one. Mirror ... mirror ... on the wall ....

If it comes down to fighting in the streets you won't need guns just one will do. Under the chin pointing up or in the mouth or through the sternum. OTOH several Fentanyl patches make less work for the funeral home technicians. That is if niceties like funeral services would remain online if the grid goes down. You really haven't thought this through, have you....
And another reason I own guns is to protect my family and I from strange people.
Do you have proof that Biden is mentally unstable? Is he taking antidepressant medications? Has he been to see a psychiatrist, and under gone a through mental evaluation by qualified medical professionals as opposed to a three time award winner of City-Data's coveted "Troll of the year" award?
