Additionally, the American taxpayer is the real hero for their funds are the ones that bailed out the industry. Why are Obama and Biden acting as if they pulled off some miraculous event when 1. They didnt initiate it 2. It was the taxpayers money who did it. Millions of taxpaying heros saved the auto industry as far as im concerned.

I'm generally against bailouts too, this one was necessary. It just annoys me to see all politicians trying to take credit for what was really possible because of the American taxpayer. Ive yet to see credit given by the politicians to the American taxpayer for this.

Bush paved the way for Obama. Bush gave $17.4 billion. Obama spent over $85 billion.

Somehow I'm waiting to hear how Bush is responsible for the wasteful spending of 90 billion dollars on Obama's green energy initiative.

I was just talking with one of my Republican friends about this yesterday, and I forgot that Bush initiated it. But if I remember right, Obama carried it through, and the GOP detested it.

I'm generally not a fan of enabling companies with bailouts, but I agree with you. We needed this one. My home state (and Ohio's) would have been destroyed economically if it didn't go through. Now Michigan and Ohio are doing pretty well, and the fact that Mitt Romney would have just let us go only confirms my resolution not to vote for him. Talk about a missed judgment call.

Well was it actualy the chines's money? Should you folks be thanking them? Or maybe thanking your kids as they will be the ones paying for it. Many economists beleive it will never be paid back in full.

How much is GM stock now?

Funny that Obama/Biden are sucking up the credit.

Do you know what Romney said? He said the automakers should go through Chapter 11. And guess what happened? GM and Chrysler did, in fact, end up going through Chapter 11. The bailouts themselves were not sufficient. And now Democrats are bashing Romney for saying "let Detroit go bankrupt" when that's exactly what they did themselves (under Obama, not Bush)!!!
