i know that the Tea Party is not a single cohesive entity and that anyone can (and does) start up an organization containing the "Tea Party" moniker. that being said.......... it's events like these, imo, that justify the attacks by the Tea Party's critics and will minimalize it in the minds of moderates and independent voters as nothing more than a fringe movement to be ignored.

actually i think the vast majority of birthers are just average joe conservatives that really want the birther narrative to be true. so they'll accept information that supports that belief ( true or not ) and ignore that which doesn't ( cognitive dissonance ) without objectively researching the matter.
