There was a proposal to require certain female athletes, used to competing in shorts, to switch to skirts. After an outcry, that proposal was rejected. But what women wear when competing in the Olympics remains a hot-button topic.

Looks good to me. .

I have little doubt that showing more skin is good for ratings.

Men ogling women has happened since the beginning of time.

It's not going to stop when athletes wear full body sacks either.

"On the flip side of all of this are countries like Saudi Arabia and other Islamic nations, which are pushing for uniforms that are even more modest, at least for athletes from their countries."

This is what the outcry is from. Saudi Arabia allowed women in the Olympics for the first time this year. Now they want to tell everyone what they deem appropriate for all to wear. I'm sure they would be happy if all women were banned or had to show up to the pool in some sort of burka suit. If you disagree you must be an islamaphobe of course.

I voted yes thinking you were talking about the Americans who have had to change their uniforms in that very sport. I have to agree with what you said concerning the picture.

The article mentioned the WNBA. Quite honestly - when I watch an NBA game - I watch the game. When I watch a WNBA game(not often) - I watch the players.

I would have no problem with the ladies wearing skirts - in the near future we are going to see a retreat from the sexual revolution of recent times - and more of an emphasis on the value of women for the important role they play in society - a focus on their humanity rather then sexuality. (yes I struggle with this - as evidenced above - I am a sinner after all - like everyone else - Jesus Christ died to redeem all our sins - accept Him and you find peace and strength to overcome.)

Women are the daughters of God after all - let's treat them with the respect they deserve.

When you have to move you wear less. Don't the swimming men wear speedos still?

Yeah but the rub... is that swimmers arn't getting all sweaty and sandy. Plus you arn't watching Micheal Phelps junk bob up and down for 1 hour.

Oh yeah he just won is 20th medal and 16th Gold in the head to head match up with that other swimmer.

There is no reason to wear that skimmpy of an outfit to play volleyball. Tight short biker shorts would be enough. Butt...again if I was single and in my 20's I'd see nothing wrong with it.
