Can Letting Iran Get A Nuke Help Bring Peace To The Middle East? - Forbes

Finally a little bit of common sense comes out of all this.

It would make the Saudi's nervous and the Israelis apoplectic but the prospect of Mutually Assured Destruction might keep the crazies under control. It would also reduce our tendencies to invade without reason.

"Mutually Assured Destruction" won't deter suicide bombers.
Bring on the Twelfth Imam.

You are assuming without evidence that the Iranian leadership is suicidal.

No they won't because first off we took out their computers and we built in a backdoor to give them false readings and get acurate readings on where they are in terms of enrichment an how much HEU they have stockpiled... Plus we have drones and my guess is alot of military sats being the eye in the sky watching all their facilities..We hacked their phones and all their laptops and can run their mainframes and are able to control the plants or shut them down or run them at levels where we can damage their Reactor core..

heck we could just drain the heavy water out and expose the spent fuel Rods or run it hot and melt the core and they are in big trouble and would need to SCRAM and shut it down.

They are too late to since the trend now is to get rid of old nuclear stockpiles and burn them up as fuel for our Reactors since the cold war is over and massive 1970s ICBMs are expensive to maintain and keep secured plus not like Iran has any sub sonic or heavy super sonic nuclear bombers or SSBN subs to Launch nuclear missiles from and no long Range missiles since NK has a more advanced space program than Iran.

Which Iran would need because if they cannot get a small civillian sat into LEO that mean they have no way to send a nuke unless by truck or boat and we can detect it and it is a truck or Cargo ship is a slow moving target so lots of time to blow it up in transit.

I find posts like this funny because you don't need computers or software to run nuclear reactors or even to make nuclear weapons. How do you think the United States made Fat Man and Little Boy in 1945. You don't even need em to run nuclear reactos or Uranium Enrichment plants like like K-12 and K-25 in OakRidge or the five water cooled graphite pile reactors buiult by DuPont and Union Carbide at Hanford . People did it all by reading dial guages, using paper chart recorders, in some cases counting number of light bulb indicators on a panel. We even used a magical device called a slide rule and logarthms. I still have my dear old K&E (made in Germany of course) and can still use it. The only reason I would want to use computers and other forms of automation is its cheaper and gets rid of thousands of unnecessary workers. You know the ones I have to pay for their healthcare or retirement and with no workers fewer security problems.

Sure! Letting Iran have nukes now could buy some time, and hell, why not?

The Mid East is used to temporary fixes.
