It seems the Democrats want everyone under their socialist boot.

Obama Threatens To Veto Defense Spending Bill Unless Soldiers Are Forced To Pay Higher Health Care Fees…

The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.

Some fear the administration’s proposal is an effort to increase enrollment in the state-run insurance exchanges mandated under the president’s controversial health care law.

What's wrong with soldiers paying what others pay for health care?

I'm so sick of these right wingers thinking those in the military are some higher ranking citizens than the rest of us.

Apparently now a soldier can cover his entire family for $1000 per Year. I'm sure the proposed hike was modest.

First Clinton moved the military from Champus to Tri-Care and now Obama wants to further increase cost of healthcare on the military. Pattern? This won't effect officers or high ranking NCOs. But it will effect enlisted service members with family from ranks E-1 to E-6, some of whom qualify for food stamps and WIC. This doesnt just effect active duty service members. It also effects retired veterans. Doing things to hurt military service is fine for Democrats but don't touch illegal aliens. Heck, they're even advising Border Patrol agents to run and hide rather than use their firearms.

Toughcrap. They can go get another job if you don't like the military's low cost/high quality healthcare plan. The proposed increase would still have them paying far below average.

Nice way of saying "I hate the military and think our nation would do just fine without a military". Oh, and only officers can quit or resign their commission. Enlisted personnel are stuck until their enlistment is up. This raise in rates effects the low ranking enlisted people most of all, the ones who can't quit.

My dad was talking bout this and his Tri-Care payments will likely increase by a whopping $6 a month. He's not complaining, especially when compared to what his insurance cost would be as a civilian retiree.

You assume that. In all likelihood the increase would be grandfathered.
