This is why I think the prediction that Whites will become severely politically marginalized ( as nonwhites become a majority of the voting age population) is wrong. The % of nonwhites who actually bother to vote is very low.

It's not overblown. In the 2008 election Hispanic voters went just about 2-1 for Obama over McCain.

If the GOP had it together they would go hard after the Hispanic vote. Many are social conservative, believe in hard work, etc. Unfortunately the Dems have their trump card of race-baiting, and the GOP will get rolled over in all the commotion, as usual.

lol I'm glad the Republicans are too dumb to know how important the Latino vote is. George W Bush and Karl Rove weren't though, their refusal to campaign on an anti-Latino platform gave Bush his extremely narrow victories both times. Remember also Bush "won" 12 years ago when the white population was bigger and he still lost the popular vote to Gore and only beat a complete windbag like John Kerry by a sliver. Latinos don't vote as high a rate as whites because many are not citizens. That doesn't mean their vote is as irrelevant as the GOP thinks it is; see how irrelevant they think the Latino vote is in 2020 when the Democratic candidate carries Texas

Yep...all of that "compassionate conservatism" moved out of the GOP once Rove and Bush were finished with pandering to Latinos. One need only visit the Illegal Immigration forum here to feel the love.

The only way that the GOP could gain the Hispanic vote is to be pro-amnesty. No thanks!

How much of that Cuban republican support extends outside of South Florida? Not much, and there are growing Puerto Rican and Dominican populations in Florida that may at some point counteract the Cuban vote.

In a national election a Democratic would gladly give up the South Florida Cuban vote to the Republican Party to pick up bigger blocks of Hispanic voters in other states.
What is funny is that the young Cuban vote in Miami mostly went to Obama in '08 since most of the elderly Cubans vote for the GOP not because of their political platform but their hatred of Castro which has kept Pukes like Ileana Ros Lehtinen & Lincoln Diaz Balart in Congress for decades!
Cuba Si! Castro No! and that all it takes for them to be re-elected!

Glad you had the chance to get that off your chest, zip disks. I'm not quite sure why you quoted me, since your post doesn't address anything that I said. Case of PUI, maybe?
