The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, multiple sources told ABC News.
But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman
Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night that Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, that stated he was unconvinced Zimmerman's version of events.
Believing in something without any evidence is one thing....
Having evidence that proves that you are innocent is another...
We don't know what his disbelief is based on. What evidence proves that Zimmerman is innocent? I don't think any of the evidence has proven anything one way or the other, this is why there should be a trial.

Homicide detectives make decisions based on evidence. Trayvon's dead body was part of the evidence. The homicide detective didn't believe Zimmerman's version of events based on his investigation. Why??
Thankfully homocide detectives are not the deciding factor in who gets charged and who doesn't. There's a reason that legal jurisprudence is put in place...... to protect people from rogue investigators.
Watch The First 48 sometime and you'll see how little input they have beyond the investigation.

Trayvon's body is evidence? To what? That he is dead? Or are you referring to the Psychic Channel Network that can commune with the dead...
As far as evidence, we have testimony of eyewitnesses... physical evidence that Zimmerman was assaulted... Zimmerman was performing his duties as Neighborhood watch = evidence.... That Trayvon was not a resident of a gated community = evidence... as well as collaborating evidence that Trayvon was not some innocent 13-year old because that is the picture the media wants us to believe... it is ironic that the family goes on to say that they are angry the media is exposing Trayvon REAL personal life history because it would ruin his reputation... excuse me, but they did not say the killing was racially motivated and calling Zimmerman a racist? Reputation goes both ways... The homicide detective didn't believe the version of events, and why not other than complete and utter silence about it... yeah... perhaps the cop thought the only one that should be able to fire a gun is a cop because he doesn't provide ANY evidence to contradict Zimmerman's story... and all the physical and eyewitness testimony affirms Zimmerman's testimony... which is ironic because criminal charges STILL haven't been filed by FEDERAL or STATE investigators.. ironic... they are still searching for evidence... really ironic...
Watch a couple episodes of Lae & Order the detectives always want to arrest somebody but the DA steps in tells them to let them go if there is not enough evidence.

Maybe you do, but I don't get my facts or education from television shows.
