Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher are both jerks. (drug, suspect, companies)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have never experienced either Limbaugh or Maher except accompanied with handy on/off button. The off button was there if I didn't like what they said.
Sandra Fluke is the real jerk in this. She wanted Congress to enact legislation FORCING people to do what they didn't want to do. Unlike TV's and radios, legislation doesn't come with an on/off switch.
Yes, it is very true legislation forces people to do things that they don’t want to do. For instance, I found that it is much cheaper to simply dump my toxic waste in a river than to pay to have some expert dispose of it. In addition, I want to kill people and run red lights while high on heroin but every time I do they put me in jail. The Jerks!

Sandra Fluke was fighting for all women to have access to necessary medical services.

Studies have shown that taking the birth control pill after the age of 40 can reduce your risk of ovarian cancer by half. It can also help you fight colon, uterine and breast cancers.
In general, there is no age limit to birth control since it can be used for so many other reasons than preventing pregnancy. Review the following benefits and talk to your doctor about the possibility of taking the birth control pill to improve your quality of life and as a means of powerful prevention. If Viagra is considered a medical need, so should be BC pills.
Within weeks of hitting the U.S. market in 1998, more than half of Viagra prescriptions received health insurance coverage.
===============
This week, New York became the 20th state to require that insurers and employers provide contraceptive coverage. That means that half of U.S. women now live in states requiring at least some birth control coverage, according to Planned Parenthood. Massachusetts and Arizona passed similar bills earlier this year that will go into effect in 2003.
Viagra is covered by insurance within weeks of becoming available to US men.
BC pills coverage is still not universally covered 50 years after becoming available to US women.
Limblah has never once apologized to a public figure he insulted... and why should he? No one asked him to -- we're not a bunch of soppy p******* like the Right.
We? I thought you like to champion your I "lean a little left" mantra around here. I guess to get in on the Rush attacks you had to go all the way?? LOL

Why is Sandra a jerk?
Basic logic, along with a little econ 101. All of the examples that you offer involve externalities, i.e. people who never volutarily agreed to your plans are substantially impacted. The person downriver who has to deal with your toxic waste, the person you t-bone when you run the red light, etc. The legislation sought by Fluke was not to rectify or prevent any externalities.

We've still got a long way to go, baby...
Firstly, Fluke was not "fighting for all women to have access." It's not a question of access, it's a question of who pays. She already has "access," so that can't be what she's fighting for.
Secondly, is there a law requiring that viagra be covered? I don't know, but I doubt it. Does Georgetown cover viagra? Again I don't know, but we would have to know that in order for your comparison to have any validity. Finally viagra isn't a contraceptive so that's a poor comparison. A better comparison would be if there were a male contraceptive that G-town's health plan covered, while female contraceptives were not. I doubt that you can find such an example.
FWIW, I would be just as much against a law mandating that health plans cover viagra. As an aside if guys would just take care of themselves, few would need viagra. I am a very old guy but a marathon runner, don't smoke, drink, nor use drugs, and never needed any viagra. If someone wants viagra, why not let them pay for it themselves?
Both men think that bashing other is the way to get ratings. What say the rest of you?
I agree they are both jerks. I think they are both misogynistic, in their own ways.
