Surely some of you good search engine users can find the answer to that question very soon. Let me add another question for you. What part of the song "American Pie" related to that happening? I have loved to hear that song that goes on and on or so many years and never did recognize the words of the part I am asking about till today.

Well what the hell do you expect to happen when you hire hells angels as security?

It was supposed to be Woodstock II, not so much.

Hence the day the music died. I'm a music freak though.

Two were pretty good at discussing this one and then subsound broke in with some normal deflection.

Seriously I don't listen to words maybe too often I just listen to the music and I didn't know those words you guys are putting up till Glenn Beck told me about them.

Was that one really a big hit and success? Why did the media manage to ignore it almost altogether?

rolling stones - under my thumb - YouTube

In defense of the Stones, I don't think they really saw what was going on, and the song was just ill timed.

I'm not a huge fan of the Stones, I do like the nursery rhyme that Keith Richards wrote for his son, aka "wild horses"

The lyrics were changed to make it about a woman, but he wrote it for his first born, and thats what I think of when I hear it, my first born.

I have always heard "the day the music died" is about buddy holly's death not altamont or the song american pie. altamont made big news when it happened, course I lived in california so it was local news. don't have a clue what beck thinks of song. I have never liked the song, it reminds me of the death of a family member and the death of a sweet little baby girl.
