19 to 25 have definitely already graduated. Some 18 year olds have. But the person I was referring to was talking about.....

January 2012. If you turned 18 in January of 2012, you are most likely still in high school.

BTW, 14,000 government jobs were cut last month.

It would be nice if he also posted the number of state and local employees being laid off due to cutting big government.

So which is it ?

Just this past November a poll showed that 73% of boomers will work past retirement age (65) nevermind leave the workforce at 55 as the BLS reports.

Poll finds more boomers working past retirement - Yahoo! News
The Associated Press-LifeGoesStrong.com poll found a baby boom generation planning to work into retirement years — with 73 percent planning to work past retirement, up from 67 percent this spring.
The average unemployment period for those 55 and older was 45 weeks in November. That's 12 weeks longer than for younger job-seekers. It's also more than double the 20-week period this group faced at the beginning of the recession in December 2007.

Some are working longer, but many are getting laid off whether they like it or not, and forced into retirement. Read the article. One man had to retire at 62 because he lost his job.

Are 10,000 quitting every day? No. Are a majority of them retiring every day? Yep.

62 I can see..but 55 ? Unless you have a beefed up 401K there's nothing you can get at 55. But the BLS is counting 55 and older for the declining participation rate. And the BLS did not say because they are retiring.

In an AARP poll of people hitting 65 this year, Cone says, 40 percent have no intention of retiring.

The BLS counts 55 and older. That's what I read, the BLS report.

For every poll you can find that says A, I can go out and find another poll that says B
Polls have agendas behind them.

I just linked an AP poll and you just linked an AARP poll.
Both are drastically different. Do you not see that ?

Neither are FACTS. They are polls.

Its a FACT that people are turning 65 at a rate of 10,000 people per day.

If the poll holds true, then 60% of them, 6,000 people are retiring daily.
