Heads to the Senate, where it is sure to gather dust along with all the other bills obstructed by the democrat Senate.

House Passes Payroll Tax Cut Extension With Keystone Pipeline Provision | Fox News

Quote:
"Mr. President, we can't wait," said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, employing a refrain the White House often uses to criticize Republicans for failing to take steps to improve an economy struggling to recover from the worst recession in decades.

Voting in favor of the legislation were 224 Republicans and 10 Democrats, while 179 Democrats and 14 Republicans opposed it.
Well, looks like the GOP has called obama's bluff.

Quote:
The legislation "extends the payroll tax relief, extends and reforms unemployment insurance and protects Social Security -- without job-killing tax hikes," Republican House Speaker John Boehner declared after the measure had cleared.

If the payroll tax extension was attached to a provision that raised the tax on the millionaires, the Republican would be crying foul.

If the payroll tax extension was attached to a provision that cut defense spending, the Republicans would be crying foul.

If the payroll tax extension was a bill that stood alone without any special condition attached to it -- maybe it would have passed by itself. Oh wait, who the heck am I kidding? The GOP was against this.

Gotta love them Republicans.

and it is loaded with poison pills that doom the bill where it sits.

they broke their Pledge to America, again.

Quote:
Advance Legislative Issues One at a Time: We will end the practice of packaging unpopular bills with “must-pass” legislation to circumvent the will of the American people. Instead, we will advance major legislation one issue at a time.

What's the matter GOP, afraid the pipeline can't stand on it's own merits so you have to hijack the middle class again?

Ummmm...obama squashed the pipeline as a favor to his environmentalist base.

I'd call that hijacking the MC AND killing much needed JOBS.
