Israeli Mayor Bans Christmas Trees - Global - The Atlantic Wire

Quote:
The mayor of Nazareth Illit, an Israeli town with an Arab Christian minority, has declared a ban on the public display of Christmas trees. "Nazareth Illit is a Jewish city and it will not happen--not this year and not next year, so long as I am a mayor," Mayor Shimon Gapso said.
This is a tough one for the FoxNews crowd. Who to defend? Israel or Christmas?

It would be tough for people who can think and have integrity.

OP, what are you trying to accomplish with this thread? It's not bad enough that the hayseeds hate Muslims. You'd like them to hate Jews too?

Why are decorated trees so important to Christians? Can't the birth of Jesus still be celebrated without public displays of Christmas trees?

I really don't care what they do in Israel.

I think they will just ignore it since it creates a paradox of right wing crazy and they would not be able to deal with it.

This. I'm not sure if we should be supporting such behaviour....
