I would say most American car companies create the most jobs because so many mechanics are kept in business trying to keep them on the road.
In fairness, I think that used to be true, but there are some American cars doing pretty well...especially some of the fords which are considered more reliable than their Japanese counterparts.
But all they're talking about are the assembly line jobs. What about all of the other jobs? Marketing, engineering, design, finance, etc. By far, the U.S.-based auto manufacturers produce more jobs in this country than the foreign companies do.

I am sure that is true. But the perception is that most of the parts are produced in other countries, which does not seem to be true.
