Another I hate Obama daily thread! Dang Obama and his extra $0.15 cent tax on Christmas trees! Well he kept the tax cuts for the wealthiest so maybe you can stand with a tin cup in front of a tree farm and beg the wealthy for those extra $0.15 cents!
Isn't this Just Amazing! If I bought Real Trees I would buy a fake this year! I mean really he just can't help himself in taxing Anything he can so he picks trees!
The board, proposed earlier this year, is actually the culmination of a years-long effort by the fresh Christmas tree industry to promote itself, according to the background provided in the Federal Register. The industry has faced increasing competition from producers of artificial trees, but efforts to collect voluntary contributions for a fresh-tree marketing campaign have repeatedly run out of funding.
This was lobbied for over years by the industry to promote itself. If you don't want to pay a tax, vote with your wallet and buy from dealers that sell less then 500 trees a year. Read your own damn link instead of issuing another peeling whine about government.
The tax is not on RETAIL outlets that sell 500 trees, it's collected from tree GROWERS that sell more than 500 trees. But the tax can be passed down the line.
You are one of the rank & file Obamabots who just says that .15 is nothing but never bothers to think about the big picture (as is the case with most liberals). Did you ever bother to ask yourself why this is necessary?
Because it is like everything else you buy except certain food items, they are TAXABLE, pay it.
Psssst, try leaving your personal attacks behind it only reflects on your own credibility.
