We live in a free market economy. Salaries are generally what the market will bear and many times are tied to how easily replaced a worker's skill set is. Except engineers- some of the smartest guys out there- but make jack compared to the amount of brain power they put out vs. say a commodities trader who needs to be both lucky and good.
.
The market is always right because it is reality. If the market says it wont pay engineers well, then that's what they are worth. The market is driven by supply and demand, not education.
Actually Bush was a buisnessman who lost money in the oil business. At the time I think he was the only man in the oil buisness that lost money. Reagan was a successful actor and was the president of the screen actors guild. Bush 1 was also a businessman who was successful. The rest, going back to Kennedy were career politicians who actually acquired their riches from us. As you said... Pulled it out of thin air without making any contribution to society.

Yep.
Why is no one complaining about the money Boxers or Ballers or even F1 drivers make?
Ryan Howard 25million a year? That seems a bit unfair just to hit a ball around a field of grass?

But I'd never begrudge him that.
True. They complain when the CEO of a large multi billion dollar corporation makes $20 million but don't complain when a Hollywood actress gets paid millions for acting and showing her ****.
What I'm saying is the price (of land) is now out of reach, and it was made that way by the very people who now own most of it. Not through actually bidding more than the rest of us, but through enabling the rest of us to drive the price up to a point where only they, the corporations, could afford it.
Another whining victim who blames everyone else for their own discontent.
Those who make money from others' hard work without producing anything themselves or otherwise contribute to society. Their wealth comes from thin air, while the vast majority below them actually produce the results which expand their power.
So that would be ALL business owners..right ?
In your world everyone is self-employed ?

So you really don't know WHO makes up this 1%.
You are just repeating the talking points thrown out to the masses.
The only one who can produce wealth from thin air is the Fed who has a printing press.

If I am in the 1%, I own a corporation that employs 1,000 people who "work hard and contribute to society," do I get any credit for contributing to society?
