The Dems pander to the hispanic lobby. The Reps pander to big business and their desire for cheap, docile labor. The middle class loses and no one cares.

And people still believe that Obama and this administration is deporting millions of people...and he is the Savior!
Even Obama himself has said the statistics are misleading while pandering to a Latino group.

We have over 9% unemployment and the government is WILLINGLY allowing them to work here. They are authorizing them to do so. They KNOW about it and they are not doing anything to stop it.

This administration is a disgrace.

Apparently it's been okay since 1986. Your indignation and impunity should see the Simpson-Mazolli Act.

Napolitano said: “Well, senator, since around 1986 there has been a process where those who are technically unlawfully in the country may apply for work authorization. This goes to CIS [Citizenship and Immigration Services]. It's not an ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] or CBP [Customs and Border Protection] function. And those cases are reviewed by CIS in a case-by-case basis. So there’s no change in that process. Like I said, that goes back to the mid-80s that is contemplated now.”
Another Republican boondoggle that American's are having to pay for that had holes and and underlying business bottom line foundations that we are seeing the blow back across the country. Another great job at attempting to destroy the country Republican's, and then trying to place blame elsewhere. Great job, but you get to hand on your own petard on this one.

They are ignorant to our cause, and totally disgusting and a disgrace is such an understatement.

walking all over immigration law.
actually started in 1979, a phone call to a regional director by a congressmen could result in a "reevaluation" of the calculations done --- re: fixed percentages of allocation, that a state should receive, of food distribution program goods.
or how about park rangers in sequoia park witnessing truckloads of green timber being trucked out of the park marked "dead wood".

Although Napolitano did not specify what 1986 policy she was referring to in her response to Sen. Grassley, President Ronald Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act into law in November of that year. The act applied to illegal aliens who requested a change of status within 18 months of the law's passage and who had come into the United States prior to Jan. 1, 1982, and had resided in America since that time."

Its been 25 years. How are they still able to change their status 25 yrs later?
