Tobacco companies knew that cigarettes contained a radioactive substance called polonium-210, but hid that knowledge from the public for over four decades, a new study of historical documents revealed.

Scientists from the University of California, Los Angeles, reviewed 27 previously unanalyzed documents and found that tobacco companies knew about the radioactive content of cigarettes as early as 1959.

Polonium-210 can also be found in homes where there are high contentrations of Radon. See the map below:

Radon-222 decays into Polonium-218 after 3.8 days. Polonium-218 decays into Lead (Pb-214) after 3.1 minutes. Pb-214 decays into Bismuth-214 after 26.8 minutes. Bismuth-214 decays into Polonium-214 after 19.9 minutes. Polonium-214 has a half-life of 22.3 years, and decays into Bismuth-210 and after 5 days decays into Polonium-210.

Everyone living in areas that are above 15 Bq/m3 Radon exposure is at risk of Polonium-210 radiation, whether they smoke or not.

Polonium-210 is contained in calcium phosphate fertilizer, a commonly used fertilizer, used to fertilize the tobacco plants. The mineral is absorbed by the root-system of the plant.

............ a message as brought to you by the trial lawyer's association, preparing for another class action suit, and passed on by gullible liberals near you. Stand by for another stick up.

Oddly, like the "light" cigarette stick up by the trial lawyer's association, this will be opposed by the State Attorneys General by every state in the US, as it would compromise thier annual tobacco money. Funny that the states are now on the opposite side of the trial lawyer's association.

Wake up.
