Cut the government some slack. What kind of fool knowingly and willfully stays when a storm of Katrina's magnitude is headed their way. It's not like it popped up out of nowhere and they had 5 hours warning.

Keep in mind that with Katrina the larger problem was not so much the hurricane, but the failure of the levys. Not to say that the hurriane was not problematic, but if the levys had held there quite probably would not have been quite the catastrophe it turned in to.
