How about Germany, Norway or Sweden?

Are there any 1st world nations that are run by Conservatives (although Conservative by world political standards is quite a bit left of American Conservatism)?

Voices from all sides. For every rep, you'll get someone from the other side infuriated by what you said.

As to which side has the majority of voices, it depends on the issue. Some things lean left, some right. Some things, like our huge Defense Budget, have strong supporters and strong opponents on both sides of the political spectrum, and for the life of me I don't know why ANYONE thinks we are accomplishing anything by constant foreign wars, let alone how anyone thinks we can continue to afford to do so after racking up a debt of over $15 trillion and still skyrocketing.

I haven't met an actual "leftist" here yet. I see some people who are center-left who get called socialists, but only by the right wing loonies.
I'd like to actually know what a "rabid leftist" is anyway. We get called that and socialists, and communists, etc. so often here, but I haven't the foggiest clue what people are basing that on short of it being an empty ad hominen attack.

I think the better poll question would be: "How many of you are collectivist authoritarian big-government statists that hate "the rich" and how many are anti-federalist, free-market capitalist individualists that want to keep more of the product of your own labor"?

Left = commies
Right = freedom

And I reject the notion that freedom equals confiscatory taxation, bloated federal bureaucracies that violate the enumerated powers outlined in the Constitution, wealth redistribution, smoking dope in the streets, plunging forks into fetus heads, and state recognition of perverted behavior such as homosexuality.

People like Ann Coulter deserve to be bashed. Anyone who thinks she is a rational, sane person really needs their head examined (no offense). She is one of the nastiest people on this planet, right up there with Fred Phelps.

Eh, I'm not sure that is a good judge. Many people who would have voted for McCain, voted for Obama because Palin ended up on the ticket. I'm fairly sure that if McCain had a better VP, he would have won.

It seems to me that there is more leftwing bashing than rightwing bashing on this thread, but I just did a quick analysis of the current front page headlines. Here's how they break down:

Inflammatory Slam on Liberals: 20
Inflammatory Slam on Conservatives: 19
Neutral: 13

I currently lean to the left. This board leans right.

Then again, I tend to skip the liberal threads and concentrate on the conservative threads.

I lean left. Many liberals would say I'm moderate. I'm most liberal on social issues, but not on all things.

I think C-D PoC is kind of balanced, with a tilt to the Right. There are quite a few very vociferous hard righties who post a lot, on every little thing, and that makes the forum seem more right-leaning, but there are a sizable number of moderate and liberal voices. I know there are a few hard-lefties but they don't seem to pop up as often or else don't make it so obvious.

I'd also never heard of Stormfront or encountered anybody with their views in over 20 years until I started visiting C-D.
