I've been telling my wife this for some time. With the way the media hypes some trials (casey anthony) do you think there will come a time where a judge deems the defendant can't get an impartial jury and free somebody? I mean could obviously the woman was declared innocent so can't be charged for the same crime again but if she could would she be able to get any type of a fair and impartial jury at this point? Media goes overboard for ratings but could let a killer walk at some time IMO>

When you say killer you obviously have already established that the person indeed is a killer, thus of course one cannot set them free.

I agree though that some legal provisions and practices are odd. Like that one cannot be tried for the same thing twice, lapse of time, deals, etc.
One gets the impression that winning is the priority, not justice or truth.
