Critics Still Wrong on What

"Some critics continue to assert that President George W. Bush’s policies bear little responsibility for the deficits the nation faces over the coming decade — that, instead, the new policies of President Barack Obama and the 111th Congress are to blame. Nevertheless, the fact remains: Together with the economic downturn, the Bush tax cuts and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq explain virtually the entire deficit over the next ten years (see Figure 1)." - The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

Yep, anyone who doesn't blame all of the congressmen and women, and the President from the years of 2000 to 2010 for our budget problem is not accepting reality.

Yep;just another democrat not takig resonsibilty for nay spending under Obama. That is a terrrible indictment of Obama really.Rememeebr that presdient has the sole power to not sign bills.Rememebe that Obam hasn't been presdient but aliitle over four years. Then look at the oprgram that project the real cost of three programs spending';SS;medeicare and medicaid in lout goig years.Of the 18-20 per cent taken in on average it wil consume 16% of that i outgoig years. That is why even Obama admits the current path if ubsustainable. 2% of revenue to provide all the rest of government servces?

Blaming either party and giving the other one a free pass is stupidity on a grand scale.

Your graph is confusing and hard to understand. I have a better one:

Anyone who does not blame every single President, Senator and Congressman since 1940 is absolutely delusional. The only people that get a pass are those who voted against deficit spending every single time it came up, and that's going to be a very, very small group of people. Underlying thing: Every President and every Congress since 1940 has made it a policy of pushing the USA further and further and further into debt. The practice should have been stopped decades ago.

Now Bush had 8 years to screw us. Obama hasn't yet finished his systematic rape of the American people. Without some BIG changes, this is what our future is looks like:

You're going to have Barack Obama and the current Congress to blame for doubling the US Debt AGAIN.

So yeah ... I've got a great idea. Let's raise the debt ceiling ... cuz we just can't function without more debt.

Your figure 1, has been proven to be wrong so many times, that if you are still using it, you havent educated yourself. Obamas "stimulus" package cost more then all of the Bush wars COMBINED for example, and the tax cuts, actually doubled capital gains revenues..

Its SPENDING responsible for deficits, not a lack of income..

Nice to see though liberals dont mine embarassing themself over, and over, and over, with the same old bs lies..

Allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire would cut most of the deficit.
