Taking hatred of opposing views to a different level that is pre-requisite to savagery. If you think this is, has been and will be, only Muslims doing it, then you're either uninformed or a participant in the practice. In Nigeria, the Muslims burn churches and kill Christians in the north where they're a majority, and the Christians burn mosques and kill Muslims in the south where they're a majority. What do you gather from this is that only one side has a problem?
Well EinsteinsGhost..this thread is about just that so why not discuss it ?
Why are you so quick to diss many posts in this thread ?
If you feel the Muslims are being shown in an unfair light..find recent articles where they have been killed and their mosques burned.
That's perfectly ok to the Left. But don't YOU dare burn a Koran!!!!
Liberals and Progressives won't peep a single word about Christians being killed and their churches burned down, but will make a complete lunatic scene over someone burning a Koran.
You add fuel to the partisan fire by over generalizing the populace. There are extremists who might fall under what you've stated, but the majority of liberals / moderates / progressives (appear to all be the same in the GOP vernacular), if we must use these terms, don't feel that way. Not one I know would celebrate the burning of a church. They seem to have a consistent disdain for human behavior that they believe lacks compassion or for zealots that promote their beliefs at all costs. Most despise dogma / extremism in general. They are more likely to attempt to take an objective view in instances such as "celebrating the death of an enemy" or celebrating death in that manner of anyone. They are more likely to dig into the deeper reasons for long term, ideological long struggles such as the ongoing Muslim / Christian one(s). They may be completely wrong in their conclusions since conclusions are highly individual but they seem more willing to discuss new ideas. This is in sharp contrast to those who hold deep seated beliefs that they aren't willing to discuss. This dogma is a potential stigma in any church or faith depending on the degree of zealous following. For these people, a suggestion of anything other than what they deeply believe, is cause for a fight. To even entertain something "from the other side" is seen as an apology. This, in general, seems to be a trait more pervasive in the righteous.
BTW, SD, you illustrate this to some degree in post #42 where you conclude EG's status. Which is a leap to say the least. Here is your conclusion:
I'm really starting to believe either:
a. you are a plant here to spread propaganda
b. you are just awfully ignorant
c. you are Muslim
d. all of the above

In other words, you would rather pretend that it is a one-sided problem? Go ahead, and you will keep providing me with the opportunities to put you in the right place.
I take it the moderator got offended by my humour and deleted my other post. How can a video lampooning religious wars be off topic? Well sour grapes on you.
No..those are your words..jumping to a conclusion to suit your agenda.
Then you didn't get my words. Let me repeat... in Nigeria, Muslims are persecuting Christians in the north. In Nigeria, Christians are persecuting Muslims in the south.
Too difficult for you to get a grasp of that reality?

Lampoon away my friend. It is a refreshing position from the right versus left rhetoric.
How about the British, French and Spanish Empires?
Half of my heritage comes from Iberia, which was subjugated in the name of Islam long before Spain or Portugal ever went on its own colonial adventures.
It's why I laugh when I hear Arab countries lamenting European "colonialism," with no problems or even glorification of the mid-ages caliphate.
The world is a very messy place.
