While after having been all over Europe and being satisfied with how much I *hate* the French (love most other people in Europe), this is a part of their culture and they shouldn't be denied a glass of wine with lunch while on duty.

It's been done this way for ages and it suited them fine. It is integrated into their culture yet they're copying our epic fail policy of no tolerance with drugs/alcohol. Also, their wine goes with lunch so it's as if they never drank. It's very different than drinking 3 pints and resuming duty.

There are many things I dislike about the French (too racist/xenophobic and socialist mostly), but one thing they have right is their high tolerance towards alcohol. More understanding that alcohol consumption isn't black and white leads to fewer alcoholics in the country. Just like you when you should start your kid shooting a .22 when they're 10 years old to desensitize them to guns, you should feed your kid a glass of wine at age 9 or 10 with dinner.

I believe I shoot better after a drink or two. Helps steady the hand. Oh am I going to get blasted in here for that comment. No I won't say what range I go to.

I am 6'3" 300lbs though. Probably the same as most people just sniffing a glass of alcohol.

What the hell. If there is a problem institute a drug test program. If you blow a .02 or higher at any time during a work shift your fired.
