Since so many straights don't think gays should marry, I am gonna turn the tables. Should straights be allowed to re-marry?
This is, perhaps, the most-stupid thread ever to taint CD.
First of all, Gays CAN marry. There is absolutely no discrimination against them whatsoever. They can marry under the exact same set of conditions regular people can, i.e. you can't marry certain close family members, or members of the same sex. The restrictions are not applied in a discriminating manner, but apply to all equally. You may not LIKE them, but they are applied equally.
You can't name a single straight who thinks gays can't marry.
Second, there is absolutely no nexus between "same sex" marriage and re-marriage for hetrosexuals who are divorced or made single by the passing of spouse.

It's always seemed funny to me that the Catholic church forbids remarriage when the previous marriage was "consummated". Yet for a "donation" they will absolve the previous marriage, call it a mere "annulment" and allow the second marriage to go on. So two faced and hypocritical.
I live in hope that one day I will log onto this board and not see this utterly stupid and disingenuous argument being made.
I think you will be waiting a long long time until people who are oblivious to the law wake up and get a clue as to how stupid that argument is. Like, the sun going supernova type wait.
Because many on the Christian right think it's immoral and sinful for straights to remarry before God because it would be instituting adultery.
