Exclusive: WANTED: U.S. workers for crippled Japan nuke plant - Yahoo! News (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/exclusive-wanted-u-workers-crippled-japan-nuke-plant-20110331-165506-832.html - broken link)

The qualifications: Skills gained in the nuclear industry, a passport, a family willing to let you go, willingness to work in a radioactive zone.
The rewards: Higher than normal pay and the challenge of solving a major crisis.
"About two weeks ago we told our managers to put together a wish list of anyone interested in going to Japan," said Joe Melanson, a recruiter at specialist nuclear industry staffing firm Bartlett Nuclear in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Thursday.
So far, the firm has already signed up some workers who will be flying to Japan on Sunday.
I'd go in a second if I hadn't just taken an in-house job this past October and I'd have to pay back all the relocation money. I do wonder how much it will pay & what kind of perdiem you'd get. I speak some Japanese, and spent 2 years there in the Navy. I actually have a nephew stationed in Yokosuka right now!
I'd go in a red-hot second. And I do have some spare time coming up... Fukishima experience would certainly give me a stellar resume.
Dunno if I'm qualified, though. I have training but no experience. Thanks for the link. I'm gonna go check this out!
Edit: Meh, they're looking for more senior guys ready to go immediately, not somebody who's going to have to train-up for a few months. It's mostly analyst and experienced operator work. I don't think my inquiries are going to generate much interest, but we'll see.
