I won't say that Obama is invincible. He has been criticized by the liberal base for not challenging the reactionaries more and he's weak in the polls.
However, if any of the loonies, like Perry or Bachmann, become the nominee, I can't see American voters, who are basically middle of the road, voting for those extremists. The GOP has devolved into the Goldwater '64 Party.
Well, until this last speech....and until he finally realized the right will not compromise on anything....ever I had my doubts creeping in. But I believe he is back with a vengence. If we see the same guy that won last time...he's a shoo in. He can easily take down Perry or Romney in a one on one debate and the rest of that right wing crowd...like shooting ducks in a cornfield.
As versus a republican from the long list of decompationate (except toward corporate America) anti environmental, blaitently pro wealthy ani working for a living hand to mouth struggling folks, I'd say that I'd rather vote for Laura Scudders than one of those racist, anti gay, anti abortion goons. Obama has my vote!

I have to give you credit for your post. I wonder if someone like Obama naively thinks that he actually CAN do all of those things. But when he gets into office, he's forcefully "educated" that he cannot. He has not done any of those things. Probably none of the other 43 has. The only ones that I could trust now to do the "people's business" are Ron Paul and possibly Mr Huntsman.
I have been watching a documentary of the 9-11 attacks with the so-called "jersey girls". It is maing me mad that Pres Bush and his admin were so evasive in providing info the formal 9-11 Commission. congress only approved $14m to investigate, up from $1M. They appropriated over $100M to investigate the sexual escapades of Pres Clinton. What kind of priorities does Congress have?
