Sorry, but that's sick. My mother died at home and we called the police when we found her immediately.
Same here. I hadn't heard from, nor was I able to get hold of Mom for two days. She had given me a key to her apartment and I went to check up on her. I couldn't even make myself stay in her apartment but just long enough to check for a pulse. Knocked on a neighbor's door and asked them to call the police.
You know, just when i feel i have heard everything, and then i hear something like this! what a sicko, psycho. I can understand grief believe me, i have lost a lot of loved ones in my life. However i can still have grief without a corpse in my living room, or in my home. Doesn't the body start to smell and rot. I still have grief for my Mom who died now almost 2 years ago in May.
And i love my Mother way too much, to have her dead decomposing body, rotting, and smelling, in front of me, that is so not right. And my Italian Mother, knew that i lay her dead decomposed body, rotting and smelling, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh her soul would so not like thatttttttttttttttt. I still after almost 2 years are having a very hard time with the death of my Mother, i was in the room the only one when she passed. Money probably has something to do with some cases as this.
I totally disagree that a dead corpose, is not creepy, they stink, rot, smell, don't like looking at bones sorry, but when someone u love dies, let them go, you can still have grief, their Soul will never leave you, so let them leave, to be free.

It's not sick, it's different than you is all. My neighbor had a wake and we all went to see the body of his mother laying in her bed the day after she died. I think the morgue picked her up later that night. No reason for the POLICE to be involved...unless someone was a victim or something.

Depends. When I found my mother dead in her living room, I was fairly sure it was from natural causes - she'd been fighting bronchitis for nearly a week. But I wanted to make absolutely certain. So I called the police, who brought along a medical examiner who determined that an autopsy wouldn't be required. Then and only then we (my husband and at least one of my siblings was there by that time) called the funeral home to pick up the body.

My mother had breast cancer that had metastasized to her lungs. My dad left the house for an hour. When he came back and found her not breathing and cold, he called 911. Naturally, the police and the coroner showed up.
