I'm sorry, but only a child would be so naive as to support the complete take-over of local governments by appointed corporations. Only a child would fail to understand the ramifications of such a tyrannical move.
The problem isn't just about appointment of managers, but of increasing their powers to literally govern over even elected officials.

On March 19, 2009, The Local Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Board appointed an Emergency Financial Manager for the City of Pontiac. The Board is led by Andy Dillon, State Treasurer.
The state already manages Pontiac Michigan, the board was put into place by DEMOCRATIC Governors.. ooh and btw, the State Treasurers position.. also an elected position..
Yep.. slappy face is back pointing out Democratic hypocracy.. No outrage no complaining, no protests when Democrats took over cities that were unstable, its only an outrage now that a GOP member is appointing a board.. hypocracy.. what else could you call it...

Numerous Democrats have used the very same powers to appoint a board.. Where was your outrage when the Democratic Governor took over Pontiac Michigan? If governors were not responsible to the taxpayers, and let the cities go bankrupt, you'd be the first one to blame the Governors for not doing THEIR JOB!!!..

Similar legislation passed in the House in February, and the two chambers are working on a final version to send to Gov. Rick Snyder. Snyder has called for more authority for emergency financial managers and is expected to sign the legislation into law.
The legislation outlines a detailed process to help communities and school districts right their finances. But labor unions and local officials object to provisions that would allow emergency financial managers to ignore union contracts, undo local ordinances and dissolve city councils and school boards."
And it's not just Union contracts they'd be allowed to void at will, but any contract. Any. And if you like your elected city council and they're working hard for your city, too bad so sad, the governor can just decide to get rid of them and put a CORPORATION in charge of running your city. Like your elected school board? Live in a great school district? Sorry, Charlie. Your school district is being dismantled, half the schools are being closed and you're merging with ABC Corporation's neighboring school district.
