Too bad the RWA's do not see that these Unions are made of US Citizens. IIRC the Wisconsin unions agreed to changes in their pension and health care payments. I guess their reasonable response was seen as a weakness that the union busters used as an excuse for this unwarranted attack.
I would like to see all the private sector union workers picket the State Government until this Governor resigns. Now that would be good for the State and the people of Wisconsin.
These public sector employees are the heart and soul of Americans!
The people protesting are the losers. So it is panic. There are plenty of Republicans that are in unions, but they understand that everyone must sacrafice right now.
Read Wisconsin posts, you'll see that plenty of Republicans are upset at Walker, because they never expected that "entitlement cuts" meant that they would suffer cuts!

It certainly is a pay cut. Compensation is base pay + benefits. They will be compensated less. Most people, public or private sector, would complain about a cut.

What most here seem to miss as they focus on Christina, is that she went to witness democracy in action at a town hall. Calling what's going on in WI "democracy in action" is somewhat a misnomer. Protests are not always democratic, and this one has had people bussed in and powerful organizations marshalling their resources to build pro-union support. It kind of takes away from the spirit of the "democracy in action" concept.
People who whine about "big powerful rich corporations" should be just as opposed to "big powerful rich unions".
Seeing democracy in action is seeing how our government works, not how our government doesn't work. Right now it's not working. The country is broke, the State is broke, and people are not willing to give in and tighten their belts, like the private sector has to do when a company is in financial difficulty.

If democracy were allowed to be in action, Walker would be tossed out of his office. The problem is, that democracy takes a back seat while republican form of governance is protecting the politicians, so that buys Walker some time.

Should it not be a matter of individual choice? If not, why don't we make *everyone* in the country join a union so that everybody is on a "level playing field".
