I believe this is one of the reasons California is in such dire financial straits. If a US citizen was in another country illegally, that country would not pay thier medical expenses.

I'm all for deporting illegals and I'm even more strongly for punishing those employers that don't take proper precautions against hiring illegals but if they are here, and they are sick, I want them to be treated since they may have something that is contagious and could be passed to the 'legal' population.

I don't want someone walking around with TB that isn't being treated.

The "illegals" were here first.

Read the History of California.

Many of these illegals in California are not even working. They came hoping to find work and found no work.

I get your point but since that time wars have been fought, borders drawn and agreements made between countries as to how people can cross borders with the consent of the ruling government of that country.

I'm just trying to address the situation as it exists today and meant no insult to those who were here 'first'. These people are now citizens of modern day countries....

So what. If you aren't an American citizen the taxpayers should not have to support you.

And I don't see enough action taken against those who don't take enough action to prevent hiring people here 'without proper documentation'.

Did I say the last part correctly?

My point is that anti-latino conservatives act as if the the hispanic community is invading the USA when they have been here for HUNDREDS of years. They are NOT the ethnic group who are the newcomers to that part of North America.

You can thank American political correctness for adminstration after administration being unwilling to enforce immigration law. The Obama administration is particularly bold when it comes to protecting the "rights" of illegal immigrants when they, in fact, have no rights.
