Nope, no inflation here. Move along...

Thanks Congress for passing Obamacare. Thanks Bernanke for inflating the money supply. We the people appreciate it!

Tell me about it. Just the extra paperwork they have to send out will raise costs. Mine went up 40%.

I'm sure the progressives are gleeful, given their demonstrated hope that private insurance will fail and UHC will rise from the ashes. Meanwhile, the poor and middle class will continue to suffer through Obamacare policies.

Let me help you with the snippet from your link:

Quote:
the insurer said that the three rate increases -- Oct. 1, Jan. 1 and March 1 -- cover a period of more than a year and have little to do with the new federal healthcare reforms. “These rates reflect trends that were building long before health reform,” the company said. “Our individual-market medical costs are rising rapidly due to higher provider prices, increased utilization, and the fact that healthier people are dropping coverage during a bad economy.”

I guess I'm lucky..mine went up 20% rather than the normal 8-10% it had in the past.
Their explanation was that they had to raise rates to fund the pool of money they had because of the "kids up to 26" can be included.

And I totally understand the logic of that. Increase the numbers covered and you have to increase the pool of money to be able to cover them.

I guess I am even luckier than you because mine didn't go up at all.

I'm even luckier because mine are completely subsidized by our NSF grant. Your point?

Health insurance is a "state" type of insurance.
I can see why CA rates went up alot due to the economic conditions of the state.

I guess it depends on how good or how bad your state is doing economically.

Old story, they are just trying again since they failed last year. Same result expected.
