Ok what now? Now that they have to make some decisions how will the republican congress respond to this?

You mean all that money used to shore up States governments, and unions.
So they could pay their pensions and benefits for another 9 months.

Sounds like they will be forced to reduce to skeleton crews and ration all government services.

Here is where I think we should be heading :

Quote:
"If everything runs out and the stimulus expires, this is a potentially catastrophic outcome for the U.S.," said Blinder, who has served as vice chairman of the Federal Reserve System's board of governors.
Stop all the props and lets take the medicine that we deserve, and then maybe people will wake up and ask how did we get here. Our problems have been building for some time now and our solutions are just making it worse. How is running up more debt going to fix the problem? how is the printing of more money and debasing our currency fixing the problem?

Me too.

Indian giver comes to mind.

If you never gave it, it would not feel so bad when there is nothing you have to take away.
Government playing GOD, comes to an end. Giving rights and taking them away creates resentment.

Wonder if those on the Government tit, will understand?

Lower Taxes = Fewer Police, Firemen, Teachers

Those seniors didn't want that Socialist Security or Medicare anyway

Perhaps the Police,Firemen, and Teachers need to be knocked into reality and be forced to work a 30 year career before getting full retirement with lifetime benefits including pension and paid health benefits...

Think of that before you dial 911. I suppose you want a 65 year old policemen responding to chase the person who assaulted you

You're so right. We should continue to borrow and print money we don't have so as not to upset anyone. Great plan.
