I like their music broadcasts.
So is music, liberal or conservative?

NPR, itself, isn't particularly liberal, but its audience is. When conservatives bash NPR they're bashing the audience, not the programming.

Should we be paying taxes to hear music played on NPR? What kind of music do they play? Does it meet everyone's tastes?

Sorry if that bugs you.

Firing Juan Williams for it CLEARLY shows a tone of political correctness and liberal bias--as they are the ones refusing to believe that terrorists tend to be muslims.
I'm sorry if it bugs you, too. You've made a great case for supporting bigotry. And of being confused about what bugs me. We see a lot of that on this board, though.

Is it bigotry for a female to think or say that she gets nervous when walking alone on a street at night and men are around?

Reality has a liberal bias.

No music will ever meet everyone's tastes.

As for me, I like listening to bluegrass on Sundays when I'm relaxing, and classical music during the week for about the same reason.

I really enjoy the world music they play as well. Click and Clack is still one of my favorite programs non-music wise.

A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

To put this in perspective, I don't think everyone in Iraq would try to kill me if i walked outside these gates. but I do believe that someone would eventually try and kill me if I walk outside these gates. I absolutely believe that. The guy above who said I don't think Muslims kill people, obviously didn't look at where I am posting this from. Which is fine, people here do drive by spouting of bull**** all the time. Muslims kill people here - including other muslims - every day of the week.

BOOM.

That's being rational. I'd think the same thing about being out and about in Somalia. One of these black people are probably going to try and do something to me, eventually. But when does common sense and rational thinking cross the line into fear mongering and just general hate towards a culture and or religious preference. It's debatable depending on a lot of factors.

That is the very point of NPR, to play music that is culturally significant but not necessarily the most commercially successful. Of course if you think that American culture heritage should be left in the hands of Clear Channel please don't catch me reading a post authored by you deriding gangster rap or some such.

Without NPR, where would the vast majority of Americans have ready access to opera, symphonic, jazz, folk and regional music?

Car Talk Plaza is in Harvard Square. That tells you everything you need to know about NPR.

^This

As well as the comments that because NPR doesn't lob incendiaries, doesn't tell us how to think, doesn't excoriate people in the news, doesn't shove a hyperbolic black and white opinion, doesn't say the things conservatives want to hear, it naturally appears liberal to conservatives.
