A Tea Party Foreign Policy - By Ron Paul | Foreign Policy

As one who is opposed to centralization, I am wary of attempts to turn a grassroots movement against big government like the Tea Party into an adjunct of the Republican Party. I find it even more worrisome when I see those who willingly participated in the most egregious excesses of the most recent Republican Congress push their way into leadership roles of this movement without batting an eye -- or changing their policies!

I already posted a topic on this, with Ron Paul warning that the Tea Parties are going to be co-opted by FOX and the GOP

Agreed. The tea party are so far right, even the already extreme right republicans are calling them out. This really tells you something.

I love Ron Paul. I walked through one of the first Tea Party events here in 2009,and that was the thought I had. One reason I've never joined or been involved in it. It's turning establishment very quickly. Who runs it? Dick Armey right? Yeah, real anit-establishment guys.

The left needs to get a brain. The MEDIA will never give any third party candidate any air time. While we must vote on the lessor of two evils, we are all stuck with Republicans or Democrats at this point. If any decent canidate ever came forward the left will be the first to attack and lie about them at every opportunity. The Republican Party just happens to be more in line with the Tea Party and most definitely the lessor of two evils.

Ron Paul should be the first to know that the media ends up choosing our candidates. They all dissed him, including FOX.

For all the idiots out there, the vast majority of the Tea Parties are mom and pop and have nothing to do with the couple that have been connected to any large organization. I guess it is our best interest for the left to remain ignorant of the facts.

The only party that the right wing would never hijack is The Green Party. The far right has an aversion to ecologically beneficial agendas. The Tea Party was vulnerable due to many ignorant people and the dogmatic religious bent that Republican Neocons spew to attract and manipulate the followers.

People are now calling the Tea Party, The Republican Tea Party.

Ron Paul worries about Tea Party turning into adjunct of Republican Party

Good for Ron Paul. He should keep open a line of communication with responsible leadership within the Tea Party to keep them advised of central party encroachment. If he doesn't then he renders his words ineffectual.

I don't think we can pass judgment on the Tea Party until the 2012 elections, as proof of its commitment, failure or demise. Thus far, the Tea Party has been fairly successful.

After all, Donks have given the O'man as long to achieve less success.

Ron Paul started talking about a "Tea Party" movement during his 2008 campaign for President.
Those who know of Ron Paul and his ideals..do you think the Tea Party today is the same ?

TARP protests by the Tea Party brought out every Republican from under the shadows.
Bush left a bad taste for anything Republican and these folks knew it.

Don't be blinded by Republicans in sheep's clothing. Their own party was tainted and now they have usurped the Tea Party to try to ride their way back into power.

The Tea Party today IS NOT Ron Paul's Tea Party and Ron Paul even sees that.

Ron Paul’s Shocking Message To The Tea Party
"Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party: You’re being taken for a ride.
..
Ron Paul believes the Tea Party is not about “left” or “right” like a lot of political pundits make it out to be. It’s about the constitution, and limited government."
