Countdown to No Change

The November ballot and how nothing will change.

I will predict that no matter who wins in the November elections, nothing will change that would improve America's chances of avoiding utter collapse.

Why the Gloom and Doom?

[1] Public debt
[2] Petroleum imports
[3] Education System
[4] Industry and Labor
[5] Health Care

  1. The public debt is impossible to repay. By law, it cannot be questioned.
  2. Our petroleum imports are 75% of our consumption. This is unsustainable.
  3. The meddling of government has bloated administrative costs, while degrading performance so that the USA has stats like a third world country.
  4. The tax on producers and the subsidy for consumers has turned the nation upside down. The recipient class wields far too much power, and will drag down the nation.
  5. There is no right to healthcare because of criminalization of unlicensed health care.
The irony is that there is no solution forthcoming from the government, save that government gets out of the way. And that cannot happen via the ballot box. For the act of voting gives power of attorney and binds the voter to obey.

Remember, governments are instituted among men to secure rights and govern by consent (Declaration of Independence). However, few realize that consent waives the first job.

The only viable tactic is to withdraw consent. And few Americans have the knowledge and temerity to do so.

Unless in the unlikely event the democrats pick up enough seats to override the republican filibuster we're going to be the same, if not worse then we are now. More republicans will mean more "NO" and even less getting done, leading to a complete stall in congress and the country collapsing even further.

I think I understand your objection.
My view of what is necessary to reform the government would be very different from yours.

It doesn't involving "doing" new things - but "undoing" many old things.

Unfortunately, inertia, opposition by the recipient class, and the bribery / corruption engine that drives the Federal government will continue onward until the nation finally collapses.

Of course, if the true goal is to collapse the United Socialist States of America, abrogate the U.S. Constitution, and create the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of America, then "they" are on schedule.

I still think that the Democrats will keep the House and Senate. Republicans will make big gains, but won't take either.

The only thing between a Republicrat wing and a Demopublican wing is the same vulture, feeding on the American people.

The less congress does, the better off we are.

Doing nothing would be a vast improvement to what we have now.

Congress will never cut spending. They only know how to increase spending, so our bloated government just keeps getting bigger year after year.

The way I have it figured, the Dems will keep control of the house and senate come November. Then, over the next two years we can watch the rest of the republican party continue to implode while the Tea Party picks each other off, one by one. We may not even need an election come 2012.

Far better "NO" than more of what we've seen for the last 4 years the democrats have been in control of the Congress. They've done a bang up job of massively growing government and the debt but that won't turn things around.

I'm sure that's what Obama is hoping for and working towards. He's been doing a fine job of ignoring the majority of the people so far, why would he stop just for an election?

I think the Democrats are only too happy to let the Tea Party continue to pick away at the extreme right of the Republican party.
