NEW YORK — Actor Kelsey Grammer is an investor and public face supporting a new network that launched Wednesday with entertainment designed to appeal to political conservatives.
Maybe some of the shunned (http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/e918.htm - broken link) conservative actors can find work here.
"The problem is, you've got to get a way for people to find you," Baine said. "Without big marketing dollars, how are people going to know you are on the air?"

I wonder if Gene Simmons is in on it.
Simmons doesn't self-identify as a conservative even though he has hawkish views.
In any case, if this creates more jobs in the US I'm for it.
I find it amazing that someone named Kelsey Grammer has never found work in the entertainment industry. Has he considered a name change? His problem may be that he is in some very stiff competition with another actor named Kelsey Grammer who apparently appeared on two very long running comedy shows and has made several movies.
IIRC the "other" Kelsey Grammer appeared for about 10 or 11 years in "Cheers" then got a "spin-off" name "Frasier" that was on for another 10 or 11 years. He also did Sideshow Bob on "The Simpsons" for a number of years as well as Executive Produce and/or direct many episodes of "Cheers" and "Frasier".
But I guess that is the "wacky liberal" (the other) Kelsey Grammer, not the guy starting this new network. Yeah, that's the ticket.
As anyone ever tried to explain to these people that the odds of making it in entertainment (lie any other highly compensated) business are very slim. And that it is the DOLLARS, or more specifically the PUBLIC voting with their DOLLARS that denote success.
The reason that the (hated by the right) Johnny Depp makes millions and your idiot cousin is still doing community theatre has nothing to do with politics, Lots of people really do want to see Depp on the big screen, 50-100 at a time want to see your cousin struggle through his lines and miss his marks in this year's performance of "A Christmas Carol".
ok guess they can replay Fox news programs in syndication. as if they werent bad enough the first time. Well there are people that will sit and watch little palin dance with th e studs so Im sure someone will watch it.... Good luck with that Kelsey, maybe now I know why I didn't watch Cheers or Frasier...
Yes, but Hee-Haw will only be shown after 11pm since it will be considered adult entertainment - too many jiggly girls running around to be considered appropriate for prime time. During the family hour (8pm-9pm), you can look forward to re-runs of The Waltons, Little House On The Prairie, and Leave It To Beaver.

Wouldn't be so sure about The Waltons because Will Geer (Grandpa Walton) was a gay communist in real life.
