Although its Utopian theme will no doubt appeal to many, after much independent study of this subject there is little doubt in my mind that Agenda 21 is a Trojan horse posing as something innocent and benign. It's public facade is made of a very thin veneer of flimsy propaganda easily wiped away and exposed by anyone willing to take the time to do all the requisite reading.
There is a big picture here and it takes a lot of study and contemplation to connect all the dots. Although cloaked in the rhetoric of sustainable development and other such “save mother earth” fairy tales the real aims of Agenda 21 are more in line with population control and the erosion of private property rights and other freedoms. If put into practice Agenda 21 will radically alter every aspect of human life and society on a scale never seen before.
I initially began investigating this issue in an attempt to debunk all the nefarious claims that I had been hearing, but became a believer instead. I honestly cannot see how anyone who takes a sincere and objective look into the matter could come to any other conclusion.
”The people never give up their freedom . . . except under some delusion." --Edmund Burke
The standard reaction to such claims here on City Data are knee-jerk admonitions to “prove it” by people who want quick, easy answers to complex problems. Sorry, if you truly want to understand this issue you’ll have to do your own homework. And then there are all the jokers with their oh so clever and original “tin foil hat” and “black helicopter paranoia” jabs. Funny how those that resort to ridicule are almost always also the least informed. Keeping your head buried in the sand is just a recipe for getting bit in the ass. If this is not your cup of tea fine, move on to another thread. If on the other hand you want to understand how Agenda 21 will impact your life in the not too distant future I have provided a few links as a good starting point. I simply offer up this information for those with “eyes to see and ears to hear” who want to better understand the world that they live in and how it is rapidly transforming from one of personal liberty and self-determination to a world of interdependence and service to state.
of course it is a Trojan Horse. This whole thing is to create a world wide caste system where there will only be the elites and the poor. Let it be known, that none of us here will be in the elite class.

You got that right. Agenda 21 will usher in a new age of serfdom under the guise of environmentalism if people don't wake up and nip it in the bud now.

You have got that soooo right Zeke! This will undoubtedly turn into serfdom. We definitely HAVE to nip this in the BUD NOW!
I have been wondering about the popularity of this thread for more than a day and wondered if everybody here knows whether their city is part of ICLEI and if their mayor is a "cool mayor". Here is source of info to learn both those things. I think it may be past time to stop making fun of politicians who make observations about "cool mayors" and their ICLEI cities. It may be time, if it is not too late, to be finding out some of these necessary things.
