Just saying, and certainly not hoping, but gear is gear ain't it.

Come on Dave, everyone in their mother-in-law knows that there are attack subs attached to carrier grounds especially those tasked to hostile waters. And there are definitely a few during a large exercise such as this. But you knew that

If there's an amphib battle group in the area, then you're throwing in some Cobra attack helicopters and more missiles. Navy ships have anti-missile defense systems.
Amphib group, who needs an Amphib group? there are 48 AH-64Ds stationed at in the Republic of Korea.

it wasnt a sub they torpedoed, it was s surface ship.

there are a few attack subs that are part of a carrier battle group. and not only that but there is generally a 300 mile exclusion zone around the carrier.

If he does our leader in the WH probably will wait 85 days to decide on what to do.

Why has he not come out TODAY and took a strong stand on this issue?

What is the idiot doing that he seems to never be on top of anything that happens?

There is always a time to speak softly and carry a big stick. And there are times to speak loudly and carrot more carrots than stick. And then there are times, to basically pimp slap someone and actually show them the inferior methods and abilities that they really possess when compared with a stronger, more powerful and more deliberate military.

When someone says they've got a big bad mean junk yard dog that they're gonna sick on you, you don't run or cry, you go get your OWN meaner, badder, bigger junk yard dog and sic 'em on that person.

I doubt that even in this day and age of instant media that there would be time to tweet between the time of a unprovoked nuclear attack and the initial response.

Carrier groups have a was of speaking that are far more effective that televised speeches.

The operative word in your sentence was "seems" which is in fact a pretty telling weasel word indicating that even you must admit that you have no idea as to what he is on top of and what he is not.
