Atheism can be considered a religion because there is no proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a higher power does not exist. You are BELIEVING that a higher power doesn't exist as much as me believing that God exists. Get it? Atheism is a religion, a religion based on the non-existence of other religions. Just like AGW. That's a religion also. There is no proof beyond a reasonable doubt that man is causing climate change but people CHOOSE to believe it or not. See my point? And the OP asserting that other religions are bad and anti-intellectual is no different than a Christian and a Muslim saying the other person is going to hell because they don't believe in their religion.

Grouping Scientology with atheism is ridiculous. Scientology is right up there with Christianity and Islam as far as crazy beliefs go.
