Well...its not as if we Caucasians go around calling each other, "My Cracker!"
That's not my point. Her post seems to suggest that the only time you would hear a racial slur is in the presence of black people.
But yeah the Caucasian kids I encounter typically go for sexuality slurs (is that what they're called) so I guess every race has it's own term of endearment.
Where do American children learn prejudice and contempt for others? From the media? Peers? Parents?
From dealing with the non human side of society. Dealing with little degenerate thugs and criminals on a daily basis makes you hate them it has nothing to do with home or society.
Television. PBS plays a lot of European sitcoms late at night. That's where I was taught ethnic hatred.
huh, thats interesting. As a "minority" who lived in Europe for several years, the most offensive and clearly racial incident I had occured with Americans. Luckily, the Europeans at the table had my back and were very cordial and "human" in their diffusion of a very American style racial incident.
I'm not letting all Europeans off the bat. There are some serious issues going on there and hatred can be found everywhere, but I found it interesting that my one explicitly racist incident in Europe occured with some Americans.
