Get a Brain, Morons: Why Being Liberal Really Is Better Than Being Conservative
Liberals and conservatives don't just disagree about specific issues -- we disagree about core ethical values. Can a case be made that liberal values really are better?
The entire article lost me when it said "We assume we're debating the same core values. We're not."
I have never once, in all my years on this Earth, assumed that liberals have the same core values as I do. That's precisely why I argue with them, because their core values and mine collide head on.
This article is from a far left site, AlterNet, and is written by a self-described "dyed-in-the-wool liberal" who offers no footnotes or links to back up her assertions. Take it with a grain of salt.
99% of Americans agree on most issues,
the media (TV and radio) love crisis, chaos, etc. so they only talk about the 1% where we disagree and make an effort to make it as dramatic as possible.
The reality is that we all think about the same.
Some see the glass 1/2 full, others see the glass 1/2 empty.

When conservatives point with pride to the tea partiers something is wrong with the conservative mind set.
Here is an excerpt-
"As a dyed-in-the-wool liberal -- the offspring of a union organizer and an early-adopter feminist, taken to peace marches and McGovern rallies at a tender age -- this idea instantly made sense to me."
It just goes to show that Michael Savage is right- liberalism is a mental disorder.

Same here Aero, I am standing on a completely different platform, a completely different root system than today's liberals.

Your glass is twice as big as it needs to be, and of course [citation needed]. You know what they say about statistics--87& are made up on the spot.

Well said. I completely agree. The liberals "core values" scare me!
