Hello,
I've recently started a job in Cranberry, PA and am considering moving to that area to cut down on my commute. Does anybody have any recommendations for townhome/apartment rentals for this areas? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Be prepared to pay A LOT for rent if you are planning to live in/near Cranberry.

Default other areas besides cranberry?

Thanks for the reply. I'm curious as to why Cranberry would be so much more expensive than neighboring areas? Do you have any recommendations on any nice areas with good apartment/townhome complexes within a 15 or 20 minute drive from Cranberry?

Thanks

There are a TON of good rental areas within 15 minutes of Cranberry. Evans City, Mars, Zelienople, even the Northern Part of Allegheny county. Just look.

Yeah, judging from what I've seen we don't have a lot of direct experience on the board with rentals in that area. My house is about 5 miles from the center of Cranberry, but it's not near anything in particular. I think there's a rental duplex on the road, but it's not a hotbed of that stuff.

You have to think about what you're looking for. Big place with on-site management? Smaller individual rentals? Walkable to anything (not likely in that area, but not impossible)? More rural sort of area? Or in town? (You never know, might be some rentals in the towns of Mars, Zelienople, Evans City as mentioned.) Price range?

It's all decent area really to a certain degree. You just have to decide which things are most important and take a look at some places.

try this for rentals:

Life at it's finest...

I live in a large townhome there. Back when the real estate market was really falling and it became difficult to sell anything, the developers bought a building of condos and rent them out.

There are tons of nice and reasonable rentals between Cranberry and Pittsburgh, it just takes a LONG ASS TIME to find them lol...I spent weeks trying to find what I was looking for (which was cheap, within 20 minutes of Cranberry, safe, and not in an apartment complex)

I remember. You were interested in Millvale. Are you enjoying it there?

I am, thank you for asking! I really like living in Millvale and I absolutely LOVE my apartment! I'm still getting used to the amount of traffic b/c where I come from, it's nothing like it is here lol! And still getting used to navigating myself around, but all in all, I'm liking it here alot! Have a great holiday!

Ellwood City and Butler are both 20 min. from Cranberry and have cheap rentals in old houses.
