We just purchased a home in this district and we are not familiar with the area or schools at all. My son is in elementary school and we will need before and after school care for him. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I looked on the District web site but there is no information for newcomers or which elementary school district our home is located in.
The person that owned the home before does not know. I would like to hear feedback and or advice from anyone that has elementary age kids in this area.
Thanks!

It is just an OK school district, nothing exceptional. Mt Lebanon, Upper St Clair and even Bethel Park are much better school districts in the South Hills. Those who can't afford Mt Lebanon or USC end up in places like Baldwin Whitehall. Good Luck.

I live in that school district. If you tell me the name of the street you'll be living on, I can probably tell you what elementary school your children will attend. Generally, the kids in the South sections of Baldwin and Whitehall Boroughs, attend McAnnulty Elementary for K and 1st grade and then Whitehall Elementary for grades 2-5. The North sections attend Paynter Elementary for K-5. My youngest graduated in 2003 so I don't have up to date info on how the schools are now, but my two did all right. Both my kids went on to college, both got their bachelors degrees and one is in grad school.
