They had to either restore or replace the granite throughout the entire park. The park was restored with the original plans in mind. The budget for this massive restoration project was limited. The new lighting, irrigation, walkways, and the Smithfield St. overlook looks amazing. I think the fountain restoration took the longest to complete. The cascading fountain in particular was prone to leaks for years.

I have loved that fountain, ever since I was little and my mom used to bring me downtown.
